The Islamic Foundations Program has been designed to provide participants with the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to implement the Fard al-‘ayn (individual duty).
Every intellectually sound and physically able Muslim must acquire basic traditional Islamic knowledge to enact the rites of worship including Salah (Prayer), Zakah (Almsgiving), Sawm (Fasting) and Hajj (Pilgrimage).
This 2 year program will cover topics such as Quranic recitation (Tajweed) and Memorisation (Hifz), Aqeedah (Islamic Creed), Hadith (Narrations of the Prophet Muhammad saw), Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence), Tafseer (Quranic Exegesis), Seerah (Life of Prophet Muhammad saw), and Akhlaq (Islamic Manners).
Each academic year consists of 40 weeks. There are two semesters per year and 20 weeks per semester. Each week consists of a 4 hour commitment. Exams will be conducted at the end of each semester and a course diploma will be issued to
graduates of the program.
